~~*~~*~~***~~*~~*~~
Angel was a champion, the only known vampire with
a soul. he dated
Buffy, the current vampire slayer, and had even come back from the
depths of
Hell after almost destroying the world. The only reason he still
had a soul
was due to Willow's restoration of it. That was why he was in
town now.
Normally, Buffy wouldn't have called him, but she couldn't find Willow
anywhere, and she knew Angel was the best choice for help. angel
felt like
he owed the young redhead something, and Buffy knew that Angel would
stop at
nothing to find her friend.
Willow's parents didn't know anything. They
hadn't even known she was
gone until Buffy called them on the chance of Willow going somewhere
to meet
up with them, forgetting to call. Xander (the best friend since
kindergarten) along with the rest of the group that helped Buffy, were
just
as in the dark on the Willow subject as the slayer was. Willow
had been
suppose to meet them at the Bronze a week before, but she had never
shown up
Buffy had searched the entire town, beating several of her normal
informers to a bloody pulp in her search for information, but no one
knew
what happened to her sweet Wiccan friend. Calling Angel had been
that last
possible change for help.
Angel had arrived in town and gotten to work immediately.
it didn't
take him long to find out Spike, his grand-childe, had been in town.
(In
vampire culture the sire is the one that does the blood sharing with
someone
to make that person a vampire, the weak ones are called fledglings,
but
others that are given more of the sire's potent elixir are called childer,
and are expected to be much more.) Angel knew how his grand-childe
felt
about Willow, he had been obsessed with her the entire time Angelus,
Angel's
demonic alias, had been there, and Spike had been unable to speak of
anyone
else. Angelus had planned to give the girl to Spike as a present,
but his
plans had changed when he had been sent to Hell.
The one thing that Angel didn't understand was how
her friends didn't
notice that Willow was missing right away. Why hadn't they found
her before
Spike had taken her out of town? Why had she been walking to
the club alone
to meet up with them? Didn't they care about her?
Everything's so blurry
And everyone's so fake
And everybody's so empty
And everything is so messed up
Pre-occupied without you
I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl
It took Angel nearly a month to finally pick up on
Spike and Willow's
trail, but he had traced them to a nice home just outside New York
Ciry,
pretty much as far away from Sunnydale and Willow's friends as possible
(well, at least without leaving the continent or taking Spike away
from a
large population). The evil part of Angel, Angelus, was jealous
that Spike
had gotten Willow first. In a vampire family, all vampires belonged
to the
eldest, and now, that was Angel, which meant that Spike belonged to
him, as
did anything Spike owned, yet he had neglected contacting Angel to
let him
know he had Willow, which made Angel assume that Willow had been taken
against her will.
So instead of knocking on the door when he arrived
he kicked it in, and
began to stomp around the building in search of his wayward grand-childe
and
the missing witch. He found them both in the family room.
It looked as
though they had been watching a movie before they had heard the door
kicked
in. Now Willow stood, hiding behind Spike, who had put on his
vampire face
(better known as vamped out) and looked ready to attack anything that
moved
towards them.
Without waiting to hear their story (and without
even asking for it)
Angel pounced and began punching, kicking...beating Spike. Catching
a sharp
looking cheek bone, Angel was unsure if he had broken the bone or if
the
younger vampire would be sporting a simple black eye. Spike didn't
get his
return shots in because before either of them had a chance to really
get
going, Willow had muttered a Latin incantation and magically separated
them.
"Stop it!" She screamed at him, shaking in fear. She
ran to Spike,
releasing him from her magical grip and cuddling him to her, checking
over
his wounds to assure herself that he was okay, she muttered how much
she
loved him. Angel just stared at them, hurt and confusion in his
big, baby
brown eyes.
You could be my someone
You could be my scene
You know that I'll protect you
From all of the obscene
I wonder what you're doing
Imagine where you are
There's oceans in between us
But that's not very far
"Angel! What are you doing here?" Willow questioned
angrily when she
finally finished coddling Spike. She still held Angel against
the wall, but
it was obvious she was working herself a little too hard with this.
"Willow, let me down," Angel told her in a soft and
calm, yet commanding
voice.
"Do you promise no more fighting?" She asked in her ever innocent way.
"Not bloody likely..." Spike muttered under
his breath, receiving a
little slap from Willow, who was still watching Angel.
"I promise," Angel agreed."
The explanation took a while. He had to hear
about Spike falling in
love with Willow, and vice versa, and also about how poorly her friends
had
treated her. No matter how hard he attempted to explain that
they didn't
feel or act that way she refused to listen to him.
Willow and Spike offered Angel a guest room for the
day, which he
accepted while apologizing about their door, then he left the building,
saying he would be back later, once he had had time to think.
Can you take it all away
Can you take it all away
When you shoved it in my face
This pain you gave to me
Can you take it all away
Can you take it all away
When you shoved it in my face
'I can't believe the fool I've made of myself,' Angel
thought as he
returned to the house hours later. He had been so worried about
Willow, he
had decided he was going to be her hero, he was going to save her from
Spike
..Spike, his stupid grand-childe. 'How dare he not tell me everything
that
was happening! Who did he think he was anyway?'
He hadn't known they had fallen in love, he didn't
know Spike took her
away from the pain, he didn't know that Spike had brought out the fire
in
her, and most of all, he didn't know that Spike made her happy.
He hadn't
known she was happy, or that she had everything she had ever dreamed
of, and
he hadn't known that Spike being able to give it to her before he could
would crush him so much.
So what had Angel done to bury his pain? he'd
gone and drunk himself
senseless of course, and now, with the alcohol helping him, he sought
Spike
out once more.
He located the other vampire in the large garden
alone, and had gone to
punch him again, but missed, ending up with his face in the dirt after
hitting his head on a cement bird bath and knocking himself out completely.
Everyone is changing
There's no one left that's real
To make up your own ending
And let me know just how you feel
'Cause I am lost without you
I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl
Willow had seen the whole thing play out from the
side door, and looked
to Spike. He could feel her fear, even from the distance between
them, and
hurried to her side, taking her into his strong, protective arms.
"We're
never going to be safe here Spike. They're never going to leave
us alone,"
she said, her voice hopeless, sad and scared.
"Shh, it'll be alright luv. I've got you,"
he whispered into her
strawberry scented locks of hair.
You could be my someone
You could be my scene
You know that I will save you
From all of the unclean
I wonder what you're doing
I wonder where you are
There's oceans in between us
But that's not very far
Talking it out had helped the couple and they had
made a very simple
plan (at least in theory). In the family room they had cleared
the
furniture and left a big empty space in the middle of the room.
Willow had
drawn a pentable on the floor and set up her candles and herbs.
Getting
some clothing that blended into the time period they decided on she
and
Spike had prepared.
Willow forced Spike to carry (more like drag) Angel
into the house (so
that he wouldn't be burned by the sun's unforgiving rays). once
his task
had been completed Spike pulled out an ancient looking, but sparkly
silver
ring with a classically cut emerald. His mother had given him
the ring,
over a hundred years before, to give to the woman he plannned to marry
when
he found her. WIllow loved the ring; she had never been given
something so
meaningful before, and decided to treasure it forever. Hugging
and kissing
Spike in thanks, they stepped into the circle and the ritual began.
Can you take it all away
Can you take it all away
When you shoved it in my face
This pain you gave to me
When Angel awoke he had a terrible headache.
He could smell strange
herbs and feel magic ripping through the air around him. A blot
of light
flashed through the building. he knew that Willow and Spike were
gone, but
to where he hadn't the slightest clue.
Nobody told me where you thought
Nobody told me what to say
Everyone showed you where to turn
Told you where to run away
Nobody told you where to hide
Nobody told you what to say
Everyone showed you where to turn
Showed you where to run away
Angel was too distracted by the disappearance of
Spike and WIllow to
hear a thump upstairs. The dark woman had collapsed after lending
the young
witch the energy to complete the spell without killing herself.
She just
hoped that she wouldn't be found out before she was done.
